The DATCO Big Roll is an expansion of the DATCO Hot Roll series. It offers a greater range of sizes and, most importantly, double the glue capacity. The Big Roll is a highly customizable solution for packaging and product assembly projects that need increased capacity without the cost of a bulk melter.
The Big Roll is loaded with features that drive productivity. A variable-speed motor lets you set the speed of the roll to increase output. Additional heaters cut downtime by bringing the machine up to temperature faster. And a microprocessor temperature control displays both the set point and the actual temperature to ensure accuracy.
Big Roll Features (All Models)
- 4½" diameter rolls increase the reservoir size to 1 lb of glue per inch of roll length
- Fastest heating available in the DATCO line
- Delta microprocessor temperature controls with digital display
- Brother International AC gear motors
- Electronic variable-frequency (variable speed) drive
- Under-temperature protection (the motor cannot start until the unit is up to temperature)
- Unique EZ-Just cam-actuated doctor blade to easily adjust glue application thickness
Tabletop Big Rolls

Tabletop Big Rolls are available in 6", 12", and 18" lengths. The 6" and 12" models can be built for either 120V or 240V; the 18" model must be 240V. On these models, the drive and electronics are housed in an easy-access, hinge-open panel for convenience.
Options & Accessories
- Knurled roll (no extra charge)
- Non-powered magnetic single hold-down roll for substrates greater than 1/8"
- Non-powered magnetic double hold-down roll for substrates less than 1/8"
- Pick bars and picks for thin, flexible materials that might wrap the roll
Mounted Big Rolls

Mounted in a custom rolling table, the DATCO Big Roll is available in lengths up to 72". The 6" and 12" Mounted Big Rolls are available in either 120V or 240V; any size beyond that must be 240V. Mounted rolls feature a remote panel box and a chain drive, with the motor mounted beneath the unit.
Mounted Big Rolls are self-contained and offer impressive capacity. An optional level control can be added so they can be paired with a bulk melter for very high-production applications.
Options & Accessories
- Knurled roll (no extra charge)
- Non-powered single hold-down roll for substrates greater than 1/8" thick
- Non-powered double hold-down roll for substrates less than 1/8" thick
